An Evening With Arik Levy at studio b Was A Huge Success!

Media members and designers from Toronto’s top design firms came together last Wednesday evening at studio b to meet with world renowned designer Arik Levy who flew in from Paris to attend. Levy is one of the most progressive designers at work today, and his designs with Baccarat are some of studio b’s best selling pieces. His most renowned works for Baccarat include pieces from the intangible collection as well as the increasingly popular one-armed Fantôme chandelier, named due to its seemingly invisible hardware creating a floating illusion when hung alone or in groups. Levy’s inventive designs perfectly display the flawlessness of Baccarat crystal. Honoured by his peers in disciplines ranging from furniture and interior design to lighting and hi-tech clothing, Levy has also extended his practice as an artist, photographer and filmmaker.
Media and designers alike listened to Levy while he spoke on his designs and mingled with guests in a surrounding of Baccarat chandeliers, sconces, barware and accessories. It was a rare opportunity to have some of Toronto’s top design firms gathered in one place. Attendees included firms such as Munge Leung, Carey Mudford and Gluckstein Design. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres catered by Daniel et Daniel while mingling with Levy and studio b president and owner David Beaton who states “We only carry the best in luxury furnishings. Baccarat is the best in its class – that’s why we carry it”. “It is such an amazing opportunity to have Arik Levy here to meet with our clients and share on his design experience” Beaton shares. With the design community excited to hear Levy’s keynote speech at IIDEX/NeoCon later that week, press and designers alike were capitalizing on the intimate evening at studio b to meet and speak with Levy one-on-one.
